A-Line Iron & Metals is proud to be a locally owned company offering great benefits while encouraging individual growth and internal advancement. We are currently looking to expand our team in the following positions:
General Laborers perform a wide variety of tasks throughout the day, no day is the same. General Laborers will take on a number of tasks that include sorting and moving recyclable metal materials, with forklifts and by hand, and operating machinery and hand tools to assist in the processing of metal materials. We also dismantle appliances, properly handling and disposing of any contaminants. To be successful in this role, it is important to be coachable, there is so much great information to absorb and there's never a dull moment!
Our in-house maintenance and repair shop keeps our team movin'! Our diesel mechanics are responsible for annual DOT inspections, repairs, and maintenance of our trucks, trailers, and equipment. Additional responsibilities include assisting in the ordering of parts and supplies, and recording all repairs in our maintenance software. The ideal candidate would have excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and be able to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Shop Assistants aide our diesel mechanic in maintenance and repairs to our trucks, trailers, and equipment. Responsibilities include ordering, receiving, and picking up parts, performing general maintenance of equipment, and assisting in various repairs. This is a great role for someone interested in a diesel mechanic role but may lack experience. You will learn the in's and out's with hands on learning!
The first person our customers meet when coming into the yard is our scale attendant! For this very important role, primary responsibilities include entering accurate weights and materials in our inventory software, preparing outbound BOLs, and communicating with the yard all inbound and outbound materials.

Our heavy equipment operators are the heart of our yard, utilizing our mobile baler, shear, excavator, magnet crane, and grapple crane to sort and move recyclable metal materials, unload inbound materials, and load outbound materials. Experience working in a scrap yard is a plus, but not a requirement. An ideal candidate would have experience with multiple types of heavy equipment, able to work in a fast-paced environment meeting deadlines, and have knowledge of general maintenance of the equipment you are operating.
